About Us

Water Street Inn & B&B ~ Lubec, Maine

Jim and Judy Heyer Discover Lubec

Rooms open every day and the Restaurant is open Tuesday thru Saturday 5 to 8:30pm.

We first discovered the peace and serenity of Lubec, Maine while on vacation in 2001. That same year we bought a cottage overlooking Johnson's Bay, renovated it with love and attention.

Having not learned our lesson yet, we worried and fretted over the condition of an historic waterfront building {circa 1864) in downtown Lubec directly on the water. With the desire of saving the building from further wreck and ruin, we purchased the building with the idea of "just making it safe, sound and secure". Two and a half years later and after an "extreme makeover", the doors of the Water Street Tavern and Inn opened for business June 10th of 2010. The results of our efforts are far from our original intention, but much more representative of what we felt in our hearts about the town, townspeople, and the beautiful old building.  SOOO >>> see below.

With Thirteen seasons now under our belt we are proud of the accomplishments of our crew and staff. We have received many accolades to our pleasure and helpful criticism to help us adjust and grow. We continue a philosophy of dynamic and flexible operation adhering to quality and customer satisfaction as a principle and guideline. Most of the time we are spot on and consistent. Like everything else, we sometimes have a hiccup. We prosper from consistency and make course corrections from hiccups.  Restaurant open 5 to 8:30 pm TUESDAY THRU SATURDAY,  Reservations SUGGESTED (941)524-6871

A good friend who knows has said "Go everywhere and eat everything". Thank you, Simon and Sybil!

With love,

About the Restaurant

The restaurant is open TUESDAY THRU SATURDAY 5 to 8:30 PM.  Reservations suggested, (941)524-6871.  The menu changes daily, featuring creative entrees as well as traditional Down East fare. We are committed to promoting the DownEast economy by buying seafood and produce from local sources and providing jobs to local residents. With that said we strive to provide an atmosphere of a warm, friendly and casual dining experience with a great menu and Outstanding wine list both which are reasonably priced.

The Water Street INN is "The Gathering place for Lubec”, where friends, family, and travelers meet. We planned the atmosphere and menu to be as inviting to the local lobstermen seeking a good meal as it is to a couple from the "Big City" on their honeymoon.

All rooms have private baths, TV, WI-FI. Refrigerator in the common room.  Most rooms are located on the second floor and require stairs to enter.
